Several things are required to prepare us to write the research proposal. In the beginning, it is essential to think about the topic of the proposed research by considering some aspects such as our interest, our expertise, the advance of knowledge in the field, and the feasibility of the research itself. After selecting the appropriate research topic, we can start formulating the title of the research which must reflect the content of the proposed research. Determining the relevant keywords is also necessary to help other researchers locate our research later when it has been published. Then, it comes to the heart of the research where we should formulate research aims, research objectives, and research questions or hypotheses. All of those aspects will determine the direction of our research including how we will collect the data, analyze them, and draw the conclusions. They should be clearly stated about what we want to learn from conducting the research and how the results will contribute to the society and to the advance of knowledge.
